Grateful Dead Reunites for Obama Concert

As a former Deadhead, this is great news to me... The surviving members of the Grateful Dead are reuniting on Monday (February 4) evening for a one-time only get out the vote concert for Barack Obama on the eve of Super Tuesday! The show is 7:30pm Pacific time at The Warfield. Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir, joined by Jackie Greene, John Molo, and Steve Molitz, will play show together in support of Obama. This will mark the first time that the members of the legendary band have performed together since 2004. No word if Obama will be there.

If you are in San Francisco check it out. If not, the video website Iclips will be producing a live simulcast streamed via the Internet on iclips at approximately 7:30pm PST. Regardless, SPREAD THE WORD...

  1. Brother! There is no such thing as a "former" Deadhead. Once you get on the bus it's just a matter of which direction the journey takes you.

Maybe fellow traveler Al Gore will get off the fence, off his ass and get involved in support of this legendary historical moment.

    Breathe Peace.

  2. Hey. I wish Al would have a backbone and endorse. Same goes for Edwards. In both cases I think they reveal themselves for what they truly are:

Edwards is scheming for a spot, any spot, in an administration, any administration. For him NOT to endorse Obama is essentially an endorsement for Hillary. Undercuts his whole argument over the last year, if you ask me.

As for Al. I like him alright, but he clearly has no backbone for politics anymore. He clearly enjoys his celbrity. BUT, the only way the environment gets better is if POLICY is passed. Thus, if he ain't gonna run himself, he should be using his clout to elect folks who will get something done.

But, if Al walsk out on stage on Monday night with the Boys, all will be forgiven...
